Organization:notesLe Conseil électoral suprême est l’organe chargé de la préparation, de la tenue et de la certification des élections législatives du 7 novembre 2021, qui, du fait de leur manque de transparence et de l’absence d’une véritable opposition et d’un débat démocratique, ont porté atteinte aux institutions et processus démocratiques. Le Conseil électoral suprême a privé l’opposition de la possibilité de se présenter à des élections libres et a assuré l’organisation du scrutin dans des conditions non démocratiques. Le 3 octobre 2023, le Conseil électoral suprême a annulé le statut juridique de Yatama, le principal parti politique indigène au Nicaragua, ce qui l’a empêché de participer aux élections de mars 2024 dans deux régions autonomes du pays (Costa Caribe et Costa Caribe Norte). Le Conseil électoral suprême est donc responsable de la répression à l’égard de l’opposition démocratique et d’atteintes à la démocratie et à l’état de droit au Nicaragua.frafr_tresor_gels_avoirfr-ga-3761

LegalEntity:notesThe Supreme Electoral Council (SEC) is the body responsible for the preparation, holding and certification of the general elections of 7 November 2021, which by their lack of transparency, true opposition and democratic debate, undermined democratic institutions and processes. The SEC deprived the opposition of the opportunity to stand for free elections and ensured the organisation of polls in non-democratic conditions. On 3 October 2023, the SEC cancelled the legal status of Yatama, the main indigenous political party in Nicaragua, hindering its participation in the March 2024 elections in two autonomous regions of the country (Costa Caribe and Costa Caribe Norte).
