Person:notes | Resigned from the Telugu Desam Party, Office of Deputy Speaker and as M.L.A. in 2001 and launched the ‘Telangana Rashtra Samithi’ (T.R.S.). Subsequently, elected to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly in a bye-election held from Siddipet Constituency. In General election to the 14th Lok Sabha and Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, the T.R.S. won 5 Lok Sabha Seats and 26 Assembly Seats in alliance with Congress-I. In August 2006, resigned from the Union Cabinet for the cause of Telangana and sat on Hunger Strike at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. In the General Elections held to the 16th Lok Sabha and to the Andhra Pradesh* Legislative Assembly, won from both Medak Parliamentary Constituency and Siddipet Assembly Constituency respectively.
