En tant que membre de la chambre électorale de la Cour suprême, Indira Maira Alfonzo Izaguirre est responsable des actions menées contre l’Assemblée nationale nouvellement élue en décembre 2015, qui ont entraîné l’impossibilité pour l’Assemblée nationale d’exercer son pouvoir législatif. De plus, elle a accepté d’être nommée présidente du CNE en juin 2020 par la Cour suprême, bien que cette prérogative appartienne à l’Assemblée nationale. En cette qualité, elle a assuré la préparation et la supervision des élections non démocratiques de l’Assemblée nationale qui se sont tenues le 6 décembre 2020 et a participé à la modification des règles électorales intervenue le 30 juin 2020 en vue de ces élections, sans officiellement quitter la Cour suprême (autorisation temporaire d’intégrer le CNE). Moreover, she accepted her appointment as the chairwoman of the CNE in Jun 2020 by the Supreme Court although this prerogative belongs to the National Assembly. In that role she prepared and supervised the non-democratic elections of the National Assembly held on 6 Dec 2020 and participated in the change of 30 Jun 2020 to the electoral norms for those elections, without formally leaving the Supreme Court (temporary permit to integrate the CNE).
