Branch 248 is subordinate to the Military Intelligence Directorate. It functions as the primary investigation body of the Military Security Service. It is considered the second-worst branch of the Service regarding violations, after the Palestine Branch. Branch 248 is headquartered in Damascus, and it is US-sanctioned. Brigadier General Ahmad Qusaibati has directed this branch since the beginning of 2021.
