Pasa al trabajo profesional de la UJC donde ocupó varias responsabilidades hasta Segundo Secretario del Comité Provincial. Promovido al trabajo del Partido donde ha transitado de manera ascendente, designado como Primer Secretario del Comité Provincial en Ciego de Ávila y Camagüey. Nuevas responsabilidades en el Gobierno le asignarían en el 2019 al ser nombrado Vicepresidente del Consejo de Ministros y posteriormente al cargo actual. Miembro del Comité Central del Partido desde el 6to. Congreso y diputado a la Asamblea Nacional del Poder Popular. Fue reconocido con la Réplica del Machete de Máximo Gómez y del Sable de Ignacio Agramonte. Propuesto precandidato a diputado en los plenos de las organizaciones de masas y estudiantiles.
