Member of the Eleventh Term Senate. Born on 1 December 1956 in Wrocław. He graduated from the Faculty of Mining at the Wrocław University of Technology and completed postgraduate studies in mining economics at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków. He worked for 12 years at the Ziemowit coal mine in Lędziny (Kopalnia Węgla Kamiennego Ziemowit) holding various positions, including that of investment engineer. Between 1992 and 2000, he was in charge of marketing and sales at the DBT Scharf Polska company. From 2000 to 2023, he held the office of Mayor of Tychy. He was a member of the Supervisory Board of the Katowice Special Economic Zone and the Management Board of the Association of Mining Municipalities in Poland.In the 1990s, he was president of the GKS Tychy hockey club. Since 2010, he has been a member of the Management Board of the Association of Polish Cities. He is a member of the political council of the “Yes!For Poland” Association. He has been recognised in the rankings of town mayors in Poland, several times he was named Manager of the Year and Local Government Manager of the Region. He received the title of the “Leader of Cities of the Future” and the Kazimierz Wielki Award,granted by the "Wspólnota" local government monthly. He was awarded, among others: Gold Cross of Merit, Medal of the National Education Commission, Gold Badge of the Polish Ice Hockey Association. Non-partisan.
