Senator of the 9th, 10th and 11th term Senate. Born on 30 May 1960 in Legnica. She graduated in cultural studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Pedagogy of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. She worked, among others, at the Centre for Silesian and Bohemian Research of the Historical Institute of the University of Wrocław, and the Wiedza o Kulturze (Cultural Knowledge) publishing house associated with the Foundation for the University of Wrocław. She was an editor-in-chief of the Nasz Uniwersytet (Our University)journal published by the University of Wrocław. She co-managed the Gallery of Modern Art of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers in Wrocław. She was a Founding Member and President of the Zachęta Lower Silesian Society for Fine Arts, and a member of the Artistic Council of the Review of Stage Songs. She served as a curator of the Ossoliński National Institute. She initiated the establishment of the Wrocław Contemporary Culture Office and led to reactivation of the Jazz on the Odra Festival. In the 1980s and 1990s, she was involved in the activities of the Independent Students’ Association, the “Solidarity” Independent Self-Governing Trade Union and civic committees. She was a secretary of the “Democratic Centre” Association. She is a member of the Board of the Association of Republic of Poland Regions. In 2002-2010, she was a Councillor of the Wrocław City Council and chaired it in 2006-2009. Between 2010 and 2015, she was a member of the Dolnośląskie Provincial Assembly and also its Chair (2014-2015). In the 10th term Senate, she was the Chair of the Culture and Media Committee. She was decorated with the Gold Cross of Merit. Member of the Civic Platform party, sits on the Regional Board and National Council of that party.
