Descriptions

Senator of the 9th, 10th and 11th term Senate. Secretary of the 10th term Senate. Born on 9 November 1958 in Grodziczno. In 2012, he graduated in political science from the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Gdańsk and in Catholic social teaching from the Gdańsk Theological Institute, branch of the Catholic University of Lublin. From 1979 to 1991, he worked as a mechanic, technical manager and deputy director of Spółdzielnia Transportu Samochodowego, a road transport cooperative group, in Nowy Dwór Gdański. In 1991, he started working as a journalist and became the owner and editor in chief of the ‘Gazeta Żuławska’ newspaper in that town. Between 1997 and 2000, he was an editor-in-chief of the “Gazeta Elbląska” newspaper in Elbląg. From 2001 to 2006, he served as the Director of the Office of Deputy Stanisław Gorczyca in Elbląg. In 2007-2015, he was the Director of the Elbląg Regional Office of the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Region Marshal Office in Olsztyn. During this period, he served as the Marshal’s representative in the consortium for the construction of a canal linking the Vistula Lagoon and Gdańsk Bay, the leader of the Revitalisation of the International E 70 Waterway Team, a member of the Steering Committee of the “Żuławy Loop” Project, the Deputy Chair of the Lower Vistula Region Water Management Council, a member of the Council for the Promotion of Inland Waterway Transport affiliated with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development, and a member of the International E 40 Waterway Revitalisation Team in Poland. In 2002-2015, he was a Councillor of the Elbląg City Council, and its Chair (2010-2013) and Deputy Chair (2007-2010, 2014-2015). In the 10th term Senate, he was the Deputy Chair of the National Defence Committee. He co-founded the “Klub Nowodworski” Żuławy Supporters Association and is a member of the “Amber Coast” Association, a member of the Management Board of Elbląg Authors’ Club Association, the President of the “Vistula Lagoon Land” Local Tourism Organisation, and the Deputy President of the “King Stephen Báthory Water Trail” Regional Tourism Organisation. He was decorated with the Pro Mari Nostro Cross and Haller’s Ring. Member of the Civic Platform party of Poland, serves as the Chair of the party's County Board in Elbląg.
