Fawaz Akhras (a.k.a. Muhammad Fawaz al-Akhras) is a Syrian cardiologist based in London specializing in cardiovascular disease. Akhras was born in Homs in 1946. WikiLeaks leaked a secret document from the US embassy in Damascus dating 2008, which revealed that Akhras is one of four individuals that Bashar al-Assad relies upon to manage his assets and wealth at home and abroad, the other three being Zouhair Sahloul, Nabil al-Kuzbari, and Muhammad Makhlouf. US sanctions were imposed on Fawaz Akhras on 22 December 2020.
فواز الأخرس أو محمد فواز الأخرس. طبيب قلب سوري مقيم في لندن متخصص في أمراض القلب والاوعية الدموية من مواليد حمص عام 1946. في وقت سابق كشف موقع "ويكيليكس" عن وثيقة سرية خاصة بالسفارة الأميركية في سوريا، يعود تاريخها لعام 2008، عن اعتماد الرئيس بشار الأسد على أربعة رجال في إدارة أصوله وأمواله في الداخل والخارج، وهم: زهير سحلول، ونبيل الكزبري، ومحمد مخلوف، وفواز الأخرس. فرضت عليه العقوبات الأمريكية في 22/12/2020.
