Ewa Matecka

Secretary of the 11th term Senate. Senator of the 10th and 11th term Senate. Born on 3 November 1956 in Ostrów Wielkopolski. In 1980, she graduated from the Faculty of History of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. She worked in cultural institutions in Ostrów Wielkopolski. She was the Director of the Modern Art Gallery in Ostrów Wielkopolski (1983-2002), President of the Przedsiębiorstwo Imprez Kulturalnych “Centrum-Ostrów”, an enterprise organising cultural events (2002-2006), and the Director of the Ostrów Culture Centre (2006-2014). In 1990-1994, she was a Councillor of the Ostrów Wielkopolski City Council and sat on its Board. From 2014 to 2019, she was the Deputy Mayor of Ostrów Wielkopolski. She headed the Social Council of the Addiction Prevention and Treatment Centre in Ostrów Wielkopolski. She was the Deputy Chair of the Public Benefit Council in Ostrów Wielkopolski. She managed the work of the Commission for Resolving Alcohol-Related Problems in Ostrów Wielkopolski. Until 2019, she was the Deputy Chair of the Culture Committee of the Association of Polish Cities. In the 10th term Senate, she served as the Deputy Chair of the Human Rights, Rule of Law and Petitions Committee. Member of the Civic Platform party.
