Major General Vladimir Seliverstov of the Russian Airborne Forces commanded the units of the 106th Airborne Division within the “Vostok” Combined Troops Grouping. In the period February to April 2022, he led the actions of subordinate troops during the Russian operation to capture Kyiv from the west. The personnel of those 106th Airborne Division units were involved in war crimes against the civilians in Kyiv Oblast, including in Bucha, Hostomel and Irpen. Those atrocities constitute crimes against humanity and war crimes. Vladimir Seliverstov has been awarded the title of “Hero of the Russian Federation”. Therefore, Vladimir Seliverstov is supporting actions and policies which undermine and threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, or stability and security in Ukraine.
