Head of the Prison No. 8 in Zhodino

In his position as Head of the Prison No. 8 in Zhodino, Dzmitry Strebkou is responsible for the appalling conditions in the detention centre and for the inhumane and degrading treatment, including torture, inflicted on citizens who participated in peaceful protests and were detained in this detention facility, including in its temporary detention centre, in the wake of the 2020 presidential election. He is therefore responsible for serious human rights violations and for the repression of civil society and democratic opposition.

En tant que directeur de la prison n° 8 à Jodino, Dzmitry Strebkoù est responsable des conditions effarantes dans ce centre de détention et des traitements inhumains et dégradants, comprenant de la torture, infligés à des citoyens ayant participé à des manifestations pacifiques et qui ont été incarcérés dans ce lieu de détention, son centre de détention temporaire compris, à la suite du scrutin présidentiel de 2020. Il est donc responsable de graves violations des droits de l’homme ainsi que de la répression de la société civile et de l’opposition démocratique.
