Senator of the 9 th and 10 th term Senate Deputy to the Sejm of the 5 th, 6 th and 7 th term He was born on 29 October 1947 in Polanica-Zdrój. He graduated from the Faculty of Acting of the Ludwik Solski State Drama School in Kraków in 1969. In the period 1969-1970, he was an actor of Kraków’s Rozmaitości Theatre, and between 1970 and 1971 – an actor of the Polski Theatre in Szczecin; In 1971-1989, he was an actor of the Stary Theatre in Kraków (at present Helena Modrzejewska National Stary Theater in Kraków). In the period 1989-2012, he served as the Director of the Ludowy Theatre in Kraków. Between 1986 and 1989, he worked as a lecturer at the Academy of Music in Kraków. In 1990-1991, he was the Director of the Department of Culture at the Kraków City Council. Between 1994 and 1998, he was a member of the Kraków City Council, and in the period 1998-2005 – a Councillor of the Małopolskie Voivodeship Sejmik. In the 6 th and 7 th term Sejm, he served as the Deputy Chairman of the Culture and Media Committee. In the 9 th term Senate, he chaired the Culture and Media Committee. He has received numerous awards for artistic and cultural achievements. Member of the Civic Platform party of Poland.
