1. Passed Matriculation from Mount Carmel School, Bhagalpur, Bihar; 2. Was the head of the School Cabinet; 3. Topped in all the examinations in Schools & Colleges; 4. Graduated in English (Hon.) from Bhagalpur University; 5. Cleared I.A.S. Examination in 1994 in the first attempt; 6. Adjudged as the best speaker in “Inter College Debate Competition” in New Delhi; 7. Adjudged as best actor and best debater in the College for three consecutive years; 8. Served as District Magistrate & Collector in four districts of Odisha such as Khordha, Nuapada, Koraput, and Bargarh 9. Served the Government of Odisha in various administrative capacities such as : i) Director, Social Welfare, ii) Director, Mission Shakti for 4 years, iii) Municipal Commissioner, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation for close to 4 years, iv) Secretary, Education (Both in School & Mass Education Department & Higher Education Department), v) Secretary, Rural Development, vi) Secretary Handlooms & Textiles Department; 10. Served in the Government of India : As Joint Secretary in handling MGNREGS (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme) in the Ministry of Rural Development of GOI from 2013-2018. The MGNREGS is considered as the largest anti poverty programme in the world; 11. Inspired by the ideals of public service and a larger platform to serve the people, she sought retirement from I.A.S and joined B.J.P in November 2018; 12.
