Frequently asked questions

#173:

Which questions will our team go over with you before licensing?

Category: Commercial · Last updated: · Permalink

Our team of compliance screening and data experts has successfully supported the integration of our data into several hundred screening use cases. Here are the main questions the team will go over with you to understand whether the OpenSanctions service is the right fit for you.

  • Do we have the right data for you? You can use our data source browser to check whether we cover the lists that your regulators demand you to follow or that you would like to make available to your clients as part of your services. (You can also browse our data on a country-by-country basis).
  • How large is your screening volume? How many entities would you like to screen against our data, and how often? Having a sense of your screening volumes will help us find the right integration option for you.
  • What does your screening data look like? The more data fields (such as date of birth, nationality, or passport number) you can cover from our rich data model, the better your screening results will be.
  • Does your screening data come with identifiers? If you’re screening vessels against sanctions – do you have their unique IMO number available? If you’re screening companies – do you have their corporate registration numbers? (Here’s where you may dive into our detailed data dictionary).
  • Where does your screening data currently live? Is your data contained in an excel sheet, a CRM or an enterprise software? This will help us assess if our team can facilitate the integration (this question, of course, is not relevant if you’d like to integrate our data into your services in a reseller use case).
  • Do you have a preference for a hosted API or on-prem integration? Screening volumes, privacy and security considerations, as well as technical requirements, all feed into the decision whether our hosted API, our bulk data downloads or our on-prem API screening service is the right fit for you.

We’re very much looking forward to our conversation with you!
