In May 2022, the United States imposed sanctions on OJSC Northern Shipping Company and 27 of its vessels, including the vessel IMO 8502080, for operating in the russian federation’s military logistics sector, transporting tanks and other military equipment for the russian armed forces. Despite these sanctions, the Turkish company Denkar Ship Construction Incorporated Company provided repair services to OJSC Northern Shipping Company for three designated vessels – IMO 8502080, IMO 8502107, and IMO 9279422.
