Person:notes | Vladislav Bruev is the former Head of the Belarusian Gomel border group and current Head of the first main directorate of the State Border Committee. In those capacities, he has been responsible for supervising the security of the border in the Gomel oblast, including the border between Belarus and Ukraine, and the passage of individuals and goods through this border. Russian troops crossed the border between Belarus and Ukraine in the Gomel oblast as part of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine on 24 February 2022.
