Person:notes | Ghassan Ismail has been the current Director of the Syrian Air Force Intelligence Directorate since 7 July 2019, succeeding Jamil Hasan. He held the position of Deputy Director of the same Directorate. He had also worked in the State Security branch of Sweida in 2016 and as the Head of the Special Tasks Branch (Air Force) in 2011. His brothers are Ammar (the opposition arrested and killed him), Ziad (who fought with the Shabiha and was killed), and Samer (a Judge in the terrorism court).
