Igor Korotchenko is known for his aggressive and derogatory statements against Ukraine territorial integrity and provokes military confrontation between the Russian Federation and the West, including Ukraine. On his social media platforms or in his TV shows he makes calls to “denazify” and demilitarise Ukraine as well as to unite Ukraine with Russia (“its historical fraternal union”), stating that Ukraine is part of the big “Russian world”. In an article published on 24 Feb 2022, Igor Korotchenko said that Russia’s task in Ukraine is to demilitarise Ukraine, explaining that Ukraine poses a threat to both its own population and the Russian Federation, as well as to the non-government- controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk oblast of Ukraine.
