Person:notesUntil early 2021, John Numbi retained a position of influence in the FARDC, especially in Katanga, where serious human rights violations committed by the FARDC have been reported. John Numbi was Inspector General of the Congolese Armed Forces (FARDC) from July 2018 until July 2020. Owing to his role, he bears responsibility for the human rights violations committed by the FARDC between July 2018 and July 2020, such as disproportionate violence against illegal miners from June to July 2019 committed by FARDC troops under his direct authority. John Numbi has therefore been involved in planning, directing or committing acts that constitute serious human rights violations or abuses in the DRC. John Numbi is involved in destabilising activities in the DRC, aimed in particular at the secession of the province of Katanga. En raison de ses fonctions, il porte une responsabilité dans les violations des droits de l’homme commises par les FARDC entre juillet 2018 et juillet 2020, telles que des violences disproportionnées contre des mineurs illégaux commises de juin à juillet 2019 par des troupes des FARDC placées sous son autorité directe.
