Data on Politically Exposed Persons from asset and interest declarations of Chilean public officials
The Chilean Law of Probity in Public Function and Prevention of Conflicts of Interest (Law N° 20.880) mandates the disclosure of interests and assets by public officials and civil servants.
The law applies to a broad range of public officials, including the President, ministers, undersecretaries, regional governors, legislative and judicial authorities, military and police officers, and leaders of political parties.
The list of individuals required to comply are similar to those considered PEPs. However, the list included in Law N° 20.880 is more extensive. This dataset does not publish information about the civil servants not considered PEPs.
The declarations are published by a joint initiative between the Consejo para la Transparencia (CPLT) and the Contraloría General de la República (CGR).
