Gatluak Nyang Hoth est commissaire du comté de Mayiandit (État de l’Unité, Soudan du Sud) depuis février 2021. À ce titre, il a commandé des milices alignées sur le gouvernement qui ont mené des attaques dans le sud de l’État de l’Unité, entre février et mai 2022. Au cours de cette période, des troupes sous son commandement ont eu massivement et systématiquement recours aux violences sexuelles comme tactique de guerre et les ont instrumentalisées pour en faire une récompense et un droit pour les hommes participant au conflit. En sa qualité de commissaire de comté, Hoth est dès lors responsable de graves violations des droits de l’homme au Soudan du Sud, y compris de violences sexuelles et sexistes systématiques et généralisées.
