Head of the Main Investigation Department, Central Office of Investigative Committee

In his position as the Head of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Belarus, Yauhen Arkhireeu is responsible for initiating and investigating politically-motivated criminal proceedings, in particular of the opposition Coordination Council members and other protesters. Such investigations are aimed at intimidating protesters, as well as criminalizing the participation in peaceful protests. He is therefore responsible for the repression of civil society and democratic opposition.

Dans ses fonctions de chef du département principal d’investigation au sein du bureau central du comité d’enquête de Biélorussie, Iaùhen Arkhireeù est responsable du lancement de procédures et d’enquêtes pour des motifs politiques, notamment contre des membres du conseil de coordination de l’opposition et d’autres protestataires. Ces enquêtes visent à intimider les contestataires ainsi qu’à criminaliser la participation à des manifestations pacifiques. Il est donc responsable de la répression de la société civile et de l’opposition démocratique.
