Mikhail Mikhailavich MURASHKIN

In his capacity as former head of the Public Security Police in Zhodino, Mikhail Murashkin ordered the police troops and riot police, OMON, to brutally crack down on peaceful protests in the wake of the presidential elections in 2020, beating protesters and using violence against them. He is also involved in the unlawful repeated detention of independent journalists covering the protests in the lead-up to the presidential elections. He is therefore responsible for serious violations of human rights and the repression of civil society in Belarus. He continues to hold a similarly high-ranking position within the Department of Internal Affairs.

En sa qualité d’ancien chef de la police de sécurité publique à Jodzina, Mikhail Murashkin a donné l’ordre aux forces de police et à l’OMON, une unité antiémeute, de réprimer brutalement les manifestations pacifiques qui ont suivi l’élection présidentielle de 2020, occasionnant le passage à tabac de manifestants et le recours à la violence à leur encontre. Il est également impliqué dans le placement en détention illégal répété de journalistes indépendants couvrant les manifestations en amont de l’élection présidentielle. Il est donc responsable de graves violations des droits de l’homme et de la répression de la société civile en Biélorussie. Il continue d’occuper une fonction d’importance similaire au sein du département des affaires intérieures.
