Petr Akopov is a Russian propagandist and columnist at RIA Novosti, a Russian State-owned domestic news agency under the effective State control of Rossiya Segodnya. He is a central figure in Government propaganda and has authored articles denying Ukraine’s right to statehood and calls for the ‘denazification’ as well as the ‘de-Ukrainisation’ of the country, promoting the idea that Ukraine should be an integral part of Russia.
