Vahid Jalili est le chef des affaires culturelles et de l’évolution des politiques de la radio-télévision de la République islamique d’Iran (IRIB), entité inscrite sur la liste de l’Union européenne. Au cours des manifestations de 2022/2023, l’IRIB a diffusé les aveux forcés d’otages étrangers. De par son poste de haut niveau à l’IRIB, Jalili est directement impliqué dans l’atteinte portée aux droits de l’homme d’otages étrangers et dans les traitements inhumains infligés à ceux-ci. Il est également responsable d’avoir diffusé des aveux extorqués à des fins de propagande soutenant le régime. Il est donc responsable de graves violations des droits de l’homme en Iran.
