Youri Latortue is the founder of the political party “L’Ayiti an Aksyon” (AAA), a former senator of the Artibonite department, and a former advisor to the President Michel Martelly during his presidency (2011-2016). He also served as president of the Senate from 13 January 2017 to 9 January 2018. Youri Latortue has armed and financed the “Raboteau” and “Kokorat San Ras” gangs, to promote his political agenda and defend his personal and economic interests, notably in the Artibonite department. Those gangs are still active today, engaging in kidnapping and racketeering, among other activities. Therefore, Youri Latortue is indirectly responsible for actions that threaten the peace, stability and security of Haiti.
Youri Latortue est le fondateur du parti politique “L’Ayiti an Aksyon” (AAA), ancien sénateur du département de l’Artibonite et ancien conseiller du président Michel Martelly durant son mandat (2011-2016). Il a également été président du Sénat du 13 janvier 2017 au 9 janvier 2018. Youri Latortue a armé et financé les gangs “Raboteau” et “Kokorat San Ras”, afin de promouvoir son programme politique et de défendre ses intérêts personnels et économiques, notamment dans le département de l’Artibonite. Ces gangs sont toujours actifs aujourd’hui et se livrent, entre autres activités, à des enlèvements et à des rackets. Par conséquent, Youri Latortue est indirectement responsable des actions qui menacent la paix, la stabilité et la sécurité en Haïti.
