Aung Kyaw Min has been a member of the State Administration Council (SAC) since 1 Feb 2023. He is also the former Chief-Minister of Rakhine State. SAC is led by Commander in Chief Min Aung Hlaing, who took over the legislative, executive and judicial powers of the State as of 1 Feb 2021, preventing the democratically-elected government from fulfilling its mandate. As member of the SAC, Aung Kyaw Min has been directly involved in and responsible for decision-making concerning state functions and is therefore responsible for undermining democracy and the rule of law in Myanmar/Burma.

Aung Kyaw Min est membre du Conseil d’administration de l’État (SAC) depuis le 1er février 2023. Il est également l’ancien Premier ministre (Chief Minister) de l’État de Rakhine. Le SAC est dirigé par le commandant en chef Min Aung Hlaing, qui s’est emparé des pouvoirs législatif, exécutif et judiciaire de l’État à partir du 1er février 2021, empêchant ainsi le gouvernement démocratiquement élu de s’acquitter de son mandat. En sa qualité de membre du SAC, Aung Kyaw Min a directement participé à la prise de décisions relatives aux fonctions de l’État et en porte la responsabilité et est donc responsable d’avoir porté atteinte à la démocratie et à l’État de droit au Myanmar/en Birmanie. En outre, le SAC a adopté des décisions limitant le droit à la liberté d’expression, y compris à l’accès à l’information, et le droit de se réunir pacifiquement. Les forces militaires et les autorités opérant sous le contrôle du SAC ont commis de graves violations des droits de l’homme depuis le 1er février 2021, en tuant des civils et des manifestants non armés, et en restreignant la liberté de réunion et d’expression.
