The GBAE is responsible for the DPRK's nuclear program, which includes the Yongbyon Nuclear Research Center and its 5 MWe (25 MWt) plutonium production research reactor, as well as its fuel fabrication and reprocessing facilities. ГБАЭ отвечает за ядерную программу КНДР, включая Ядерный научно-исследовательский центр в Нёнбёне и его исследовательский ядерный реактор электрической мощностью 5 МВт (тепловой мощностью 25 МВт) для производства плутония, а также его объекты по изготовлению и переработке топлива. ГБАЭ проводило с Международным агентством по атомной энергии встречи и обсуждения по ядерной тематике. ГБАЭ является главным государственным ведомством КНДР, осуществляющим надзор за ядерными программами, в том числе за работой Ядерного научно-исследовательского центра в Нёнбёне.
