| Description | The support vessel is one of several vessels in the russian Maritime Rescue Service fleet equipped with a Dynpos-2 class dynamic positioning system. In August 2021, the United States imposed sanctions on the vessel in connection with its assistance in the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project. The vessel’s direct involvement in the Nord Stream 2 project has not been documented. However, at the end of March 2021, it was in the Baltic Sea with its Automatic Identification System (AIS) switched off and could have been the vessel that Murman, which was involved in the construction of Nord Stream 2, met while making unexplained manoeuvres. | [sources] | |||
