Bijan Nobaveh Vatan est un législateur iranien partisan de la ligne dure,ainsi que le premier vice-président de la commission culturelle duparlement iranien. Il est l’un des 227 députés qui ont signé, le 6 novembre 2022, une déclaration félicitant les forces de sécurité d’avoir tué des manifestants et exhortant le pouvoir judiciaire à accélérer les procès et à condamner les manifestants à mort en les déclarant coupables de “Moharebeh” ou de “guerre contre Dieu”. En outre, il joue un rôle moteur dans la législation visant à imposer aux femmes des règles vestimentaires restrictives en appliquant des sanctions à l’encontre des institutions, des entreprises et des personnes qui interagissent avec les femmes qui ne respectent pas ces règles, mettant ainsi en place un boycott de celles-ci. En tant que député au parlement iranien, Nobaveh Vatan a soutenu l’assassinat, la mise en détention et la torture de personnes au cours des manifestations qui ont eu lieu à travers l’Iran en 2022/2023. Il soutient également une législation qui restreint considérablement les droits sociaux et économiques des femmes en Iran. Il est donc responsable de graves violations des droits de l’homme en Iran.
