Représentant militaire en chef lors de funérailles d’État en mai 2022, mais décrit comme vétéran lors d’une parade en avril 2022. Ri Myong Su a exercé une influence sur les questions de défense nationale, y compris les programmes de la RPDC en rapport avec les armes nucléaires, les missiles balistiques ou d’autres armes de destruction massive.
