Managing Director of the Organisation for Technological Industries (OTI), and the Syrian Company for Information Technology (SCIT), which are both subsidiaries of the Syrian Ministry of Defence, which has been designated by the Council. OTI assists in the production of chemical weapons for the former al-Assad regime. As Managing Director of OTI and the SCIT, Bayan Bitar provides support to the former al-Assad regime. Due to his role in the production of chemical weapons, he also shares responsibility for the violent repression of the Syrian population. In view of his senior position in these entities, he is also associated with the designated entities OTI and SCIT.
Directeur exécutif de l’Organisation for Technological Industries (OTI) et de la Syrian Company for Information Technology (SCIT), deux filiales du ministère syrien de la défense, qui ont été désignées par le Conseil. L’OTI contribue à la fabrication d’armes chimiques destinées à l’ancien régime d’al-Assad. En tant que directeur exécutif de l’OTI et de la SCIT, Bayan Bitar soutient l’ancien régime d’al-Assad. De par son rôle dans la fabrication d’armes chimiques, il porte également une part de responsabilité dans la répression violente exercée contre la population syrienne. Compte tenu du poste important qu’il occupe au sein de l’OTI et de la SCIT, il est également associé à ces entités désignées.
