Le général de brigade Hassan Shahvarpour est le commandant du Corps des gardiens de la révolution islamique (IRGC) dans la province du Khouzistan (Corps Vali Asr) depuis 2009. En 2023, le Corps Vali Asr a reçu un certificat délivré par le commandant en chef de l’IRGC pour avoir été le corps le plus performant en matière de gestion du cyberespace. Hassan Shahvarpour est chargé du commandement des forces qui ont utilisé des mitrailleuses contre des manifestants et d’autres civils dans la ville de Mahshahr au cours des manifestations de novembre 2019. Sous son commandement, 148 personnes ont été tuées par l’IRGC par des tirs de mitrailleuse lourde depuis des véhicules blindés qui encerclaient des manifestants en fuite se cachant dans un marais avoisinant.
