DescriptionDuring the period of the G7 and EU oil embargo and the price cap policy on russian oil/petroleum products, the tanker has been involved in the export of russian oil/petroleum products from russian ports in the Baltic Sea since 2025. In six months of 2025, the vessel transported more than 1 million barrels of russian oil. In August 2025, Ukraine imposed sanctions on the tanker's captain. The tanker is owned and operated by the russian company Gazprom Fleet LLC (TIN 7740000037, under US and Ukrainian sanctions). Gazprom Fleet LLC is a subsidiary of the sanctioned PJSC Gazprom, established in 1994 to implement a unified technical policy in the development of gas and oil fields on the continental shelf of the russian federation. Gazprom Fleet LLC is a ship-owning company that operates floating drilling rigs and specialized vessels for various purposes, organizes and maintains onshore support bases. The main activities of Gazprom Fleet LLC are: construction of exploration and production wells on the continental shelf; construction of offshore drilling rigs, specialized vessels and other floating craft; development and operation of onshore support bases and port infrastructure; fleet management and commercial operation. The company's fleet includes modern vessels capable of performing a wide range of work, including logistics and marine operations support functions for Gazprom's needs, as well as vessels available for charter. Since October 24, 2025, the EU has imposed sanctions on the vessel. Since December 13, 2025, Switzerland has imposed sanctions on the vessel. Since December 13, 2025, Ukraine has imposed sanctions on the vessel.[sources]
