He remains active in the Lukashenka regime as the chairman of the Republican Chess Federation – Public Association “Belarusian Chess Federation”.

Cette décision, motivée par des considérations politiques, visait à arrêter et à détenir le journaliste de l’opposition Raman Pratassevitch et Sofia Sapega et constitue une forme de répression contre la société civile et l’opposition démocratique en Biélorussie. Il est donc responsable de la répression de la société civile et de l’opposition démocratique. Il reste actif dans le régime de Loukachenka en tant que président de la Fédération républicaine des échecs — Association publique “Fédération biélorusse des échecs”.
