Deputy Commander of the Basij Resistance Force

Salar Abnoush est le commandant adjoint de la force de résistance Basij (inscrite sur la liste établie par l'Union européenne). La force de résistance Basij est une organisation paramilitaire composée de volontaires contrôlée par l'IRGC et dotée de branches dans l'ensemble de l'Iran. Elle est chargée de canaliser le soutien populaire au régime iranien. Elle est connue pour avoir recrutée des volontaires, dont de nombreux adolescents, et pour avoir procédé à des attaques en masse lors de la guerre entre l'Iran et l'Iraq. Après l'élection présidentielle iranienne contestée de 2009, la milice Basij a brutalement étouffé les protestations et attaqué des résidences étudiantes. La milice Basij a deux missions: dispenser une formation militaire défensive pour protéger le régime contre les invasions étrangères, et réprimer les activités contre le régime à l'intérieur en recourant à la violence de rue et à l'intimidation. La milice Basij fait partie des forces auxquelles le gouvernement a fait appel pour mater les protestations de septembre/octobre 2022. Elle a blessé et tué plusieurs manifestants. Selon certaines sources, des membres de la milice Basij ont, sous le commandement de Salar Abnoush, commis de graves violations des droits de l'homme en Iran. Il est donc responsable de graves violations des droits de l'homme en Iran.
