Minister of Culture, Crafts and Tourism since 25 Aug 2021. Member of the Supreme Cyberspace Council and Cultural Revolution Council. Former Head of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) until Nov 2014. Under his tenure at IRIB, he was responsible for all programming decisions. IRIB has broadcast forced confessions of detainees and a series of "show trials" in Aug 2009 and Dec 2011. These constitute a clear violation of international provisions on fair trial and the right to due process.
