Ali Akbar Ahmadian is the former chief of the IRGC Joint Staff and former head of the IRGC’s Strategic Planning Division. He is the current Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Council’s decisions. The SNSC is coordinating all activities that affect Iran’s defence and has steered Iran’s nuclear negotiations. Ahmadian built his career within the IRGC and led the IRGC Strategic Centre from 2007 onwards, where he has reportedly been an influential figure in shaping security and military policies, as well as in developing Iran’s missile programme. He is thus engaged in Iran’s proliferation-sensitive nuclear activities.

Ali Akbar Ahmadian est l’ancien chef d’état-major de l’IRGC et l’ancien chef de la division de la planification stratégique de l’IRGC. Il est l’actuel secrétaire du Conseil suprême de sécurité nationale, dont il est chargé de superviser la mise en œuvre des décisions. Le Conseil suprême de sécurité nationale coordonne toutes les activités qui ont une incidence sur la défense de l’Iran et a piloté les négociations sur le nucléaire iranien. Ali Akbar Ahmadian a construit sa carrière au sein de l’IRGC et a dirigé le centre stratégique de l’IRGC à partir de 2007, où il aurait joué un rôle influent dans l’élaboration des politiques de sécurité et militaire, ainsi que du programme de missiles de l’Iran. Il participe donc aux activités nucléaires de l’Iran posant un risque de prolifération.
