Targets persons and entities contributing to Iran's nuclear or missile programs, as well as those undermining good governance or the rule of law in Iran, or assisting Iran to threaten the sovereignty or territorial integrity of other countries. Designated persons and entities are subject to an asset freeze, and declared persons are barred from entering or transiting Australia. Country-wide measures prohibit supplying arms and related matériel, as well as certain graphite, metals and industrial-process software, to Iran. These autonomous measures complement the UN Security Council sanctions on Iran, reimposed in September 2025 under the Resolution 2231 snapback, which Australia implements separately.
