AGAT electromechanical Plant OJSC is part of the Belarusian State Authority for Military Industry of the Republic of Belarus (a.k.a. SAMI or State Military Industrial Committee), which is responsible for implementing the military-technical policy of the State and a subordinate to the Council of Ministers and President of Belarus. AGAT electromechanical Plant OJSC is therefore benefitting from its association with and supporting the Lukashenka regime. The company manufactures “Rubezh” – a barrier system designed for riot control that has been deployed against peaceful demonstrations that took place in the wake of the presidential elections held on 9 Aug 2020, thus making the company responsible for the repression of civil society and democratic opposition.

L’entreprise fabrique un système de barrières destiné à contrôler les émeutes, “Rubezh”, qui a été déployé contre les manifestations pacifiques qui ont eu lieu à la suite de l’élection présidentielle du 9 août 2020, rendant ainsi l’entreprise responsable de la répression exercée contre la société civile et l’opposition démocratique.
