Viktor Musavirovich AFZALOV

Colonel-General Viktor Afzalov is Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Aerospace Forces since August 2018, and acting Commanderin-Chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces since 23 August 2023. As such, he is responsible for conducting air operations against Ukraine during Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. In taking on and acting in this capacity, he is supporting and implementing actions and policies which undermine and threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.

À ce titre, il est responsable de la conduite d’opérations aériennes contre l’Ukraine au cours de la guerre d’agression menée par la Russie contre l’Ukraine. En assumant cette fonction et en agissant en cette qualité, il soutient et met en œuvre des actions et des politiques qui compromettent et menacent l’intégrité territoriale, la souveraineté et l’indépendance de l’Ukraine.

Official of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Commander of the Aerospace Forces (since October 2023). Holds a senior position in the federal state body responsible for the military actions of the Russian armed forces against Ukraine. Heads large divisions of the Russian armed forces.
