Former Governor and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Syria. Adib Mayaleh controlled the Syrian banking sector and managed the Syrian money supply through the issue and withdrawal of bank notes and control of the foreign exchange rate value of the Syrian Pound. Through his role at the Central Bank of Syria, Adib Mayaleh provided economic and financial support to the former al-Assad regime. Former Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade in power after May 2011 under the former al-Assad regime.

Adib Mayaleh a contrôlé le secteur bancaire syrien et géré la masse monétaire syrienne par la mise en circulation et le retrait de billets de banque et le contrôle de la valeur du taux de change international de la livre syrienne. Par son rôle à la Banque centrale de Syrie, Adib Mayaleh a apporté un soutien économique et financier à l’ancien régime d’al-Assad. Ancien ministre de l’économie et du commerce extérieur au pouvoir après mai 2011 sous l’ancien régime d’al-Assad.
