On 22 Feb 2022, Altabaeva supported, in the Federation Council, the deployment of Russian forces in Ukraine. On 4 Oct 2022, Altabaeva supported, in the Federation Council, the legislation to annex the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine. Thereby she actively supported actions and implemented policies which undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.
