Targets individuals and entities responsible for actions destabilising, undermining or threatening the sovereignty and independence of the Republic of Moldova, including obstructing the democratic political process and elections, and planning, directing or participating in violent demonstrations. The regime was established in 2023 at the request of the Moldovan government under Council Decision (CFSP) 2023/891 and Regulation (EU) 2023/888, and listings have focused on Russia-linked actors and networks interfering in Moldovan elections; it is currently extended until April 2027. Designated persons and entities are subject to an asset freeze and a prohibition on making funds or economic resources available to them, and designated individuals are banned from entering or transiting EU territory.
