Targets individuals and entities responsible for threatening the peace, security or stability of Mali, or for obstructing or undermining its political transition. Established in 2017 to implement the UN sanctions regime under UN Security Council Resolution 2374 (2017), with an EU-autonomous track added after the 2021 coup d'etat; after a Russian veto ended the UN regime in August 2023, the EU converted the framework into a fully autonomous regime in April 2024. Designated persons and entities are subject to an asset freeze, and natural persons to a travel ban.
