Targets persons and entities threatening the peace, security or stability of South Sudan, including those obstructing the political process or responsible for serious human rights violations. The regime implements the UN sanctions line established by UN Security Council Resolution 2206 (2015) and the UN arms embargo under Resolution 2428 (2018), and the EU also designates persons autonomously under Council Decision (CFSP) 2015/740 and Regulation (EU) 2015/735. Designated persons are subject to an asset freeze, and natural persons are barred from entry or transit; these measures combine with a country-wide embargo on arms and related materiel.
